About L.K,
Lincoln Kennedy was born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands UK. He grew up with a humble lifestyle, with a somewhat strict upbringing, but embraced by divine love and compassion from a Mother who cared for her 'brood' well, who to this day is sadly missed. His stage name L.K derives from him using his middle name, Lincoln and his mothers maiden name Kennedy, to form Lincoln Kennedy, aka L.K
He was brought up in the Christian Faith, going to church each and every Sunday as a child, though as he got older he took another direction in life, although he still has his beliefs and own ways to express his Faith in God.
He left home in his early teenage days, first briefly going to live with his Aunty Lorraine and her husband, where he enjoyed keeping their wonderful landscape garden in trim and then a spell of looking after their first born Simoné. He then moved to London, where he spent some years working in the I.T sector, following in the footsteps of his older sister Denise and Aunty Melanie, where they all shared a rented house together. His younger brother Neil has always stayed and lived in Wolverhampton, even to this day, bless him, L.K will say. His younger sister Sammy, currently lives with her partner in the Walsall district and she's a very successful worker at Wolverhampton University. L.K is very proud of her, as after the loss of their Mother, Sammy went through 'Emotional Hell', as she was only 8 and very close to her Mom when she passed away. To this day, L.K will always be thankful and appreciative to all who helped in looking after Sammy through those years, especially his cousin Lee and his wife Melanie, who played a major supporting roll.
L.K moved back to The Midlands when his Mother took unwell and was in his words 'adopted' into the Jones/Parker family, where he was given more than a place to live, as he became a very close part of the family, and will be forever grateful to them also. To this day they also play an important part in his life and although he sees less of them now, he has much respect for them all.
He spent many years bringing up Sammy, renting out a house where they shared together, referring to her as his daughter come sister, more than the other way round. They have a special close bond and connection together.

L.K has always had a deep passion and love for music and writing. Though becoming an independent artist was not at the forefront of his mind in his earlier days and he sure didnt see himself as performing songs in the music styles of Rap and Hip Hop (well his versions). As a child he would spend hours in his own little world, just looking out the window of his bedroom and writing down his thoughts in his descriptive way, in a notebook or scrap piece of paper. This would eventually become his life, his all, his everything, as he became more focused in music and song and the dream of becoming an artist would soon pick up pace and intensity. After years of going through his own battle and those of others around him, it was only in 2008/9 that L.K slowly started to put pen to paper again on an adhoc basis. But little did he know then that this was the re-birth of his dream. Then in 2010, it's like something just clicked, as he went full blown into his song writing at every spare moment, juggling it around his night driving job. Lincoln Kennedy would put every spare moment he had in writing songs and on the rare chance he had a night out with friends he would play around doing his own little Rap to the Hip Hop tracks being played, as he freestyled on the dancefloors.
Having no support, backing, training or even much knowledge in the technical music industry, L.K is very proud of what he has achieved, merely using his laptop, mic and headphones. He has experimented in various genre's, not restricting himself to the Rap or Hip Hop scene, as you will hear songs in the Dance, R&B and even light Rock styles. As an artist, L.K is very versatile and brings something different to what he does.
He would like to show others who have a dream, have an aim in life, no matter what your circumstances may be, don't give up on your dream and NEVER see set backs as a failure or reason to give in. It may take some time, but to persevere is his main advice.
His light, passionate and influential way of performing each song creation, are injected into each track adding that musical depth. L.K's passion for music and the love of writing songs grows with each breath he takes and with every heartbeat. This has evolved into his own style, with his songs being described as catchy, influential, deep, profound, enlightening, creative, feel good, energetic, entertaining and positive, to name but some, with a vocal style that is ambient yet solid, light yet grounded, passionate yet mellow & tame not aggressive. His way of expressing through the likes of Rap, Hip Hop, RnB and Club styles, is not what some may be expecting from these styles, but Lincoln Kennedy has his own unique way of gaining the listeners attention.

Without the benefit of using a professional recording studio, L.K has still been able to put together a substantial catalogue of songs from the very basics. Working with some very talented producers, he has used the benefits of the internet to connect with producers from around the globe, giving him a wide choice of styles to work with.
His debut album "Restraint" will be packed with a catalogue of infectious tracks, diverse in its own means, available for summer 2012. “Restraint” is sure to offer you, the listener, a wide choice of music and song styles to listen to. So whether you're into Rap, Hip Hop, Club, RnB or Rock, "Restraint" will be more than worth a listen.
